School Matinees at Studio East

Join us for Studio East 2018-19 Mainstage School Matinee performances. These shows are approximately 2 hours long with an intermission, and are performed at the Studio East Mainstage Theater. Performers are our student cast, ages 8 through 19.

Tickets are $10/person for groups of 10 or more.

About the Show: “Oh, the thinks you can think…” Seussical The Musical  bursts onto the stage in a fantastical, spectacular, musical extravaganza by Tony Award-winning composers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Beloved characters including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, and the Whos collide in a journey spanning from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus. As Horton struggles to protect the Whos from injustice while sheltering an abandoned egg, will the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community be able to triumph? The Cat in the Hat is your magical master of ceremonies in this sensational smorgasbord of Seuss stories.

About the Show: Now in its 19th season, Studio East presents the delightfully entertaining Eastside Holiday Tradition, ‘Twas the Night… where chaos, craziness and cuteness reign. ‘Twas tells the famous poem through the eyes of, not only the humans involved, but the run-away mice, hungry cats, ‘hoofing’ reindeer and the Big Guy himself. ‘Twas is great for all ages and guarantees the whole family will exit the theater with big smiles on their faces and ready for the holidays.

The Tempest

About the Show: Prospero, the Duke of Milan, usurped of his position and power by his brother, is banished along with his young daughter Miranda, to a magical island full of mysterious creatures. For twelve years, Prospero waits and hones his magical skills, until a sail appears on the horizon, with a ship carrying his past enemies. Creating a magical storm, he wrecks the vessel and washes those that have wronged him – and some who have saved him – upon the shore. When they wake they find themselves lost on a fantastical island where nothing is as it seems.

The Bully Plays

About the Show: Written in response to the growing awareness of bullying and the all-too-often tragic results, The Bully Plays looks at bullying from many different perspectives in the hopes that actors and audiences alike will develop a clearer understanding of bullying and what they can do to help end it.

About the Show: With equal measures of pluck and positivity, this beloved Tony-award-winning musical will charm the entire family. ANNIE follows Little Orphan Annie as she grows up in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Despite her seemingly hopeless situation, Annie dreams of the day she will be reunited with her parents. Her journey takes her down a path where she happens upon a lovable mutt named Sandy, the billionaire Oliver Warbucks, and his personal secretary Grace Farrell, within all of whom she finds the family she has been missing.

School Show Reservation Policies

Seating Total Policies
You have the freedom to change your number of seats until the Payment Due Date on your contract.

Please estimate your seating totals carefully in order to ensure seating for your entire group. Additional seating after initial payment has been made is subject to availability.

Once payment is made, no refunds will be issued for empty seats, including missing people on the day of the show.

Special needs assistance is available. Please notify us if your group requires accommodations for wheelchairs, walkers, hearing or vision needs.

Payment Policies
Payment is due in full on the date specified on your contract (approximately 30-45 days prior to your performance).

Additional Tickets Policy
After final payment has been submitted, any late members of your group will need to secure their ticket to the show by calling the Box Office at 425-820-1800.

If seating is needed for any last-minute new students and their guardians, you must contact us immediately in order to secure seating. There is no guarantee that seats will be available.

These arrangements and payment must be made by the teacher or main contact for your group after approval from Studio East Theater Management.

Behavioral Expectations at all Theaters

Food, drink and chewing gum are absolutely not allowed in the theater or lobby of the theater.

All book bags, backpacks and toys should be left at school or on the bus.

Photography or video recording is NOT permitted during the shows.

Cell phones or any other electronic devices should be off during the performance, as they can interfere with the sound equipment and distract others during the performance.

We recommend using the restrooms in the lobby before your group is seated for the show.
