+ SchoolStage

SchoolStage

SchoolStage is a 6 week after-school residency program that for over 20 years has partnered with PTSAs to co-produce your school’s play.

Our best-in-the-biz Teaching Artists will guide your students through auditions, rehearsals, and performances while parent volunteers may choose to work behind the scenes to create programs, sell tickets, advertise performances, coordinate concessions, and more.

Testimonials:

“My son’s self esteem has increased significantly by participating in this program. He did not want it to end and had no issues with staying late to practice. He was happy to get to know more of his fellow students which he would not have had the opportunity just by attending school.” – ArtReach Parent

“Studio East ArtReach has allowed all of my children to participate in something they love. If it weren’t for this program that comes to our schools they would not be able to be so involved in theater. It has made a huge impact on their goals for the future and keeps them involved in a very positive way with other students at their schools.” – SchoolStage Parent

“I was so thankful that my student had a place where she was completely enthralled and excited and involved. This child is very hard to please, so this was a real gift.” – SchoolStage Parent

+ After School Enrichment

After School Enrichment

After School enrichment classes give children the opportunity to explore theater, when it may not be provided in school. Our classes typically meet once a week for 8 to 10 weeks, but can be customized to fit your particular after school needs. Classes are designed to run between 1–2 hours in length immediately following the school day on your campus. All classes culminate in a final informal showcase for friends and family.

Popular classes include:

Acting 101
Learn to act! We’ll explore character creation through improvisation, theater games, and scene work. We will build an encouraging environment in which to play! Then, we’ll work on a play to share with our friends and family at the end of class.

Intro to Broadway
A musical theater extravaganza! Put on a mini-musical in this energetic drama class where we’ll learn singing, acting, and dancing skills! Then, we’ll choose a mini-musical to rehearse and prepare for a presentation on the final day of class.

Wacky One Act
Starting from scratch, we’ll use our imaginations to create a spectacular story – anything goes! Then we’ll put our story on stage, creating wacky new characters and the set and costumes to bring them to life. We’ll work together to become writers, directors, actors, and designers.

Improv & Comedy
Have fun with the exciting world of improvisation and comedy! Students will learn about thinking fast on their feet, working as an ensemble, creating stories and performing improv in front of others. They will learn to take risks and not be afraid of something flopping. Each week we’ll focus on different aspects of improvisation and comedy to open up a whole new world of acting. A great way to build confidence onstage!

Other fun classes include:
• Stage Combat
• Scene Study
• Shakespeare
• Story Drama
• And many more!
