Richard is a graduate of AMDA College and Conservatory of the Arts in Los Angeles, where they studied Music Theatre with an additional focus in Commercial/Pop Music. Richard believes that to grow as an artist we have to stay curious about our craft and all the pieces that make it up. This is why alongside roles like Uncle Fester (The Addams Family), Moonface Martin (Anything Goes), Seymour & Mr. Mushnik (The Little Shop of Horrors), and Quasimodo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), they also write, direct, choreograph, and compose. Their writing includes short plays/films (many of which they directed), pop music, an original musical, and even poetry. Prior to earning their degree they worked as a choreographer for Johnson High School (Beauty and the Beast) and Six Flags Fiesta Texas (A Very Looney Christmas). Richard is thrilled to be a part of the Studio East team and pass along what they’ve learned so far!
We’re moving to our new location at Houghton Village – to bring you our best work, we’ve delayed Matilda showtimes, Spring Quarter classes, and the Student Cabaret series by one week from their original dates. We’re excited for you to experience the new Studio East Mainstage theater, with no bad seats in the house, as well as our new classrooms, and we’re here for any questions you might have.
