This class is designed for students who want to study more of a pop vocal style, perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will study musical terms, performance techniques, and singing techniques in the pop style while preparing for a mini-concert at the end of the term!

Each acting technique class focuses on expanding the actor's techniques, developing characters, improvising and working with other actors in scenes. The focus of this class is scene study. Learn how to analyze a text, work with another actor on a scene and apply focused feedback. On the last day of class we’ll share our work with families and friends.

Students will take away tools to increase flexibility and improve core strength, fundamental jazz dance technique, and explore acting through specificity of movement, dancing with strength, and acting/selling a dance number. The last part of class will be spent learning a routine that will help blend good dance technique with the performance aspect of musical theatre dance.

Students will learn songs and dances from the musical "Wicked," such as "Dancing Through Life." This class will focus on building a character, stage presence, and 'acting' a song. We will end our class with a fabulous musical revue complete with songs and an original scene!
Voice: Disney SongsTechniqueK-2ndTHURSRegister now25-Apr13-Junn/a4:30pm6pmAbby TincherSinging skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. In this beginning voice class, we'll learn voice technique as we explore songs of Disney! Then we'll learn acting and dance techniques to add to the music to create an amazing mini-concert for you at the end of the session.

Designed for students who want to study voice but are not ready to commit to private singing lessons, this small class is perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will choose a musical, such as "The Wizard of Oz", "Encanto", or "Cats", and prepare a musical performance of songs from this show. At the end of the session students will confidently sing for families and show off solo, duet, and ensemble vocal work!

Cabaret Series: Epic EightiesAges 10-19TUE & WEDRegister now30-Apr5-JUNE6:30pm8pmPut together a cabaret of songs in the genre of “Epic Eighties” in collaboration with a Studio East teaching artist and the Creative Team behind our next Mainstage show, Les Misérables. Students will choose songs from popular eighties musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, Miss Saigon, Chess, Phantom of the Opera and more! Each student will work with their instructors and classmates to create a show that features every student. They’ll hone their acting, singing, and dancing skills as they work together to create a show to be performed on the Les Misérables set.

This class will be 6:30pm - 8:30pm on the final two classes, May 28th & 29th. The final performance will be on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30pm.

Workshops at Studio East are a great way to learn new skills in one day! Studio East offers Audition Workshops throughout the school year to prepare young performers for show auditions. Get prepared to take the stage!

Please note: Timing is everything. Workshops that have not met their minimum enrollment will be cancelled. Enroll early!

Our homeschool theater classes offer students of all ages a chance to explore and enjoy the performing arts during the school day. Classes include acting, dance, and music classes with a variety of themes and focuses for ages 4-16. Our dedicated instructors provide high-quality theater education, whether you are looking at drama as part of your curriculum or as a creative outlet. Arts education benefits include building self-esteem and confidence, interpersonal skills, creativity, responsibility, and so much more.
