Our dedicated instructors provide high-quality education in acting, singing, dance, and beyond, whether part of your curriculum or a creative outlet. Arts education benefits include building confidence, interpersonal skills, creativity, responsibility, and so much more.

If you have an idea for a class that you do not see offered, contact the Education Director – if you have at least six students and we have the space and the instructor, you can create your own class!

Drama Bugs: Songbirds	Creative Drama	Ages 4-K	MON	Register now	22-Apr	17-Jun	27-May	4pm	5:00pm	Brad Walker	Exploring new worlds through drama is a great way to build confidence and communication skills. This class theme is “Songbirds!” Students will play games, read stories, and sing songs focused on the theme of music and voice! Together we’ll unleash their inner drama bug! Young performers learn to create characters and tell stories as they work as individuals and cooperatively in this super fun, high-energy class.
Pop Performance	Performance	3rd - 5th	MON	Register now	22-Apr	17-Jun	27-May	4:30pm	6pm	Richard Nava	Do you want to sing like Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, or Miley Cyrus? This class is designed for students who want to study more of a pop vocal style, perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will study musical terms, performance techniques, and singing techniques in the pop style while preparing for a mini-concert at the end of the term!

We will end our class with a fabulous musical revue complete with songs and a scene!
Acting Technique: Scene Study	Technique	6th -12th	MON	Register now	22-Apr	17-Jun	27-May	5pm	6:30pm	Gilly Kelleher	Developing your arsenal of acting techniques will make you a stronger and more versatile performer. Each acting technique class focuses on expanding the actor's techniques, developing characters, improvising and working with other actors in scenes. The focus of this class is scene study. Learn how to analyze a text, work with another actor on a scene and apply focused feedback. On the last day of class we’ll share our work with families and friends.

One Act Play	Performance	3rd - 5th	TUES	Register now	23-Apr	11-Jun	n/a	4:30pm	6pm	Adrian Cerrato	Perform a one act play! Students will develop a deeper understanding of stage fundamentals and character development through dynamic and fun exercises. Then, we'll learn about the production process from auditions through to performances. We will work with a script, rehearse our play, and perform it for our friends and family!
Play Creation: Unleash Your Powers! Then we'll work together to create our own amazing original play inspired by the theme "Unleash Your Powers" There may be superheroes, wizards, magical faires and other magical characters. Who will you be?
Musical Theater Dance: Intermediate	Technique	6th-12th	WED	Register now	24-Apr	12-Jun	n/a	5pm	6:30pm	Megan Connell	This class will focus on intermediate dance technique that is fundamental for musical theatre. Students will take away tools to increase flexibility and improve core strength, fundamental jazz dance technique, and explore acting through specificity of movement, dancing with strength, and acting/selling a dance number. The last part of class will be spent learning a routine that will help blend good dance technique with the performance aspect of musical theatre dance.
Broadway Review: Wicked	Performance	3rd - 5th	WED	Join the waitlist	24-Apr	12-Jun	n/a	5pm	6:30pm	Kim Douthit	A musical theater extravaganza! Students will learn songs and dances from the musical "Wicked," such as "Dancing Through Life." This class will focus on building a character, stage presence, and 'acting' a song. We will end our class with a fabulous musical revue complete with songs and an original scene!
Voice: Disney Songs	Technique	K-2nd	THURS	Register now	25-Apr	13-Jun	n/a	4:30pm	6pm	Abby Tincher	Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. In this beginning voice class, we'll learn voice technique as we explore songs of Disney! Then we'll learn acting and dance techniques to add to the music to create an amazing mini-concert for you at the end of the session.
Voice: Musical Revue	Technique	3rd - 5th	FRI	Register now	26-Apr	14-Jun	n/a	4:30pm	6pm	David Dryfoos	Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. Designed for students who want to study voice but are not ready to commit to private singing lessons, this small class is perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will choose a musical, such as "The Wizard of Oz", "Encanto", or "Cats", and prepare a musical performance of songs from this show. At the end of the session students will confidently sing for families and show off solo, duet, and ensemble vocal work!

	Cabaret Series: Epic Eighties	Ages 10-19	TUE & WED	Register now	30-Apr	5-JUNE	6:30pm	8pm	Put together a cabaret of songs in the genre of “Epic Eighties” in collaboration with a Studio East teaching artist and the Creative Team behind our next Mainstage show, Les Misérables. Students will choose songs from popular eighties musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, Miss Saigon, Chess, Phantom of the Opera and more! Each student will work with their instructors and classmates to create a show that features every student. They’ll hone their acting, singing, and dancing skills as they work together to create a show to be performed on the Les Misérables set. This class will be 6:30pm - 8:30pm on the final two classes, May 28th & 29th. The final performance will be on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30pm.

Workshops at Studio East are a great way to learn new skills in one day! Studio East offers Audition Workshops throughout the school year to prepare young performers for show auditions. Get prepared to take the stage!

Please note: Timing is everything. Workshops that have not met their minimum enrollment will be cancelled. Enroll early!

Our homeschool theater classes offer students of all ages a chance to explore and enjoy the performing arts during the school day. Classes include acting, dance, and music classes with a variety of themes and focuses for ages 4-16. Our dedicated instructors provide high-quality theater education, whether you are looking at drama as part of your curriculum or as a creative outlet. Arts education benefits include building self-esteem and confidence, interpersonal skills, creativity, responsibility, and so much more.
