Will your job be “beach” or “president”? Will Barbie travel to the real world or stay in her dreamhouse? The choice is yours! Using the popular new movie as our inspiration, as well as ideas from the campers, we’ll create a brand-new story in plastic that is sure to be fantastic! | ||

Campers will be given a wide selection of songs and scenes from popular Broadway shows such as Mean Girls, Beetlejuice, Dear Evan Hansen and more. They’ll select their favorites and request additional selections, to put together a Broadway Revue of their own design in collaboration with a professional musical theater director and musical director. Since this show will be put together by the students, they’ll have the opportunity to choose what inspires them and put together a show that features every student’s strengths. | |

Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones, the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, and the optimism of Disney princess movies, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die. | |

The show’s infectious, danceable songs are sure to engage performers and audiences alike. In Studio East’s new three-week camp experience, students will have even more time to hone their performance skills, take additional skill-based workshops, and rehearse a more complex show complete with costumes, props, and a tech team to help the show run smoothly. Applications are open to werewolves, vampires, sirens, gorgons, and anyone else with unnatural abilities. In this one-week acting camp, we’ll create a parody play inspired by the dark academia and supernatural genres. We’ll use popular Netflix series “Wednesday” as inspiration, but knowledge of the show is not needed as we’ll also mine from the campers’ dark imaginations to create a brand-new chilling story. | |

We’ll create a parody play in the murder mystery genre including suspicious suspects, news reporters, red herrings, bumbling detectives and more. Use popular murder mysteries such as “Knives Out” and “Only Murders in the Building” as inspiration, or create a brand new story from scratch. Change It Up (Grades 6-10)
In Change It Up Camp, we’ll take a popular story or genre and change it up to make it our own. We will twist the story and the characters all under the direction of professional theater artists. Then, after rehearsing our original script, we’ll premiere it on the final day of camp for our family and friends!
Teen Camp (Grades 7-12)
We’re putting on a show! Teen musical camps are two weeks of casting, rehearsing, and performing a fully-staged musical or play. The camp also provides 7th– 12thgraders a variety of focused skill-building exercises intended to improve students’ theater skills. These shows are designed so that every participant has a moment to shine!
Skills Camps (Grades 6-12)
Each Skills week at Studio East features different classes. Spend a week learning specific theater skills and show off your knowledge in an informal performance.
Mini YAPI (Grades 7-12)

Mini YAPI is a focused acting course for students who want to delve into some serious theater training. This week-long, process-based acting intensive is taught by the same Instructors who teach the Studio’s six-week Young Actors Professional Intensive (YAPI).
Serious acting students aged 13-19 are invited to audition for our summer teen program, the Young Actors Professional Intensive (YAPI), a six-week, comprehensive, college-level course of study in many aspects of the performing arts. Students will work with professional actors and instructors to develop and hone their performance skills.
