The Bard Series – A Theatrical Trilogy

The Bard Series

This season, students will have the opportunity to participate in three (No audition required) Shakespeare productions! In the fall, we performed The Bloody Bard, an original exploration of Shakespeare’s spookiest, witchiest, and bloodiest works. In the spring, we performed The Lovely Bard, an exploration of Shakespeare’s works through the lens of his love stories. Next up: The Foolish Bard.

.

The Foolish Bard

Join us as we complete our trilogy exploring Shakespeare’s work with The Foolish Bard! We will explore some of Shakespeare’s best-known fools, hilarious mistaken identities, larger-than-life clowns, and witty word banter as we lean into the comedy that has lasted centuries. Students will spend rehearsals learning important skills to performing this illustrious canon, from text analysis to character development and movement styles.

Whether it’s your first time working with the Bard, or you are a seasoned pro – there’s a place for you! Newer students will work on ensemble and small featured roles while experienced students can explore hefty monologues and iconic leads. Auditions and placement will occur during the first meeting.

Some rehearsal conflicts will be accepted, but students should be available for most sessions. Weekday rehearsals will be used for smaller and individual work while weekend sessions will focus more on ensemble pieces. Students will be given their call for the coming week by Monday evening. No conflicts are allowed for tech week or performances.
