Class and Camp Assistants

Students age 12 and older are invited to apply to be Work Study Interns assisting camps and classes.  Interns earn tuition credit for Studio East programs.  Ideal candidates are current Studio East students who are confident and mature, with some experience working with younger children in leadership roles.  Assisting positions are available in our Homeschool and After School class programs as well as Mid-Winter and Spring Break Camps.

Students with advanced dance experience are encouraged to apply for our Intern Choreographer positions in our ArtReach! program.  Interns earn tuition credit for Studio East programs by working with our professional Directors at local elementary schools to produce full length musical productions.  Interns must commit to at least two projects during the school year, participating in 20-25 hours of rehearsals during each 6-week project.

Starting in January we hire our paid Summer Camp assistants.  We look for Studio East-trained teens with advanced theater experience, such as YAPI, who love to work with large numbers of children.  Applicants for paid positions must be at least 15 years old and be able to commit to at least 6 weeks of camps.  Positions include assistants for the Studio’s Teen Camps, Summer Stage, TaleSpinners, Playmakers and Little Players camps.  Work Study and volunteer opportunities are also available for students age 12-19.  Assistants may need to be at a different Eastside location each week or two.

Priority in placement is given to students currently active in Studio East programs.
