More About This show

THE STORY
Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

For Ages 8-19

A musical theater workshop and show all in one day! Explore the story of Fiddler on the Roof while having a lot of fun with friends. From 12:30pm -2pm students will work with a member of the Studio East creative team to learn about the rich history of this show. They’ll also hone their performance skills by exploring a selection of script, music, and dance together.  Then, the class will go see Fiddler on the Roof together from 2pm-4:30pm. After the show, they’ll have a talk back with the actors and instructor to discuss elements of both the class and the show they saw.

Feel free to drop your student off for the whole day and get some holiday shopping done, or buy a ticket for yourself to the show and join us for the performance and talk back section of the day.
