The Studio East Homeschool Drama program offers affordable, engaging theater classes for students ages 4-18. Our dedicated Instructors provide high-quality theater education, whether you are looking at drama as part of your curriculum or as a creative outlet. A perfect theater sampler for those who want to taste it all! Every few weeks we will explore a different subject such as Scene Study, Physical Comedy, and Improvisation. We will also learn acting technique throughout the session. A great place for young actors to try out many different facets of theater, and have a ton of fun!

In this Tall Tales class students will use storytelling, creative writing, and creative drama to develop their critical literacy skills. Students will learn, tell, and recreate several tale talls from around the world. Students will think independently and work collectively to examine stories and recreate them. On the final day of class we will pick one story to perform for our family and friends! This class is part of a nationally recognized literacy program called Neighborhood Bridges. Come play, create and imagine to go on thrilling adventures every week! Students use their imaginations to travel to a different world, meet different characters, find problems and create their own solutions. Through art, games and storytelling we will learn to work together and collaborate, learn the confidence needed to be in front of an audience and beginning theater skills. On the final day of class, we will go on one last adventure so our friends and families can experience our stories along with us.

We’re putting on a one act musical, to be performed on our stage at the end of April, 2018! The title has yet to be determined – we’ll choose just the right script to match our group of young performers. Through our performance preparation, we’ll learn acting, singing and dancing skills and gain confidence while working as an ensemble to tell a great story!
