After School Classes
Avoid disappointment and register early! Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled up to two weeks before their start date.
Our Quarterly Theater Class program offers Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions, each 8 weeks in length. We also offer a 6-week Mini Winter Session between Fall and Winter. We offer acting, dancing, and singing classes with a variety of themes and focuses for preschool through high school students.
If you have an idea for a class that you do not see offered, contact the Education Director – if you have at least six students and we have the space and the Instructor, you can create your own class!
All classes are listed by grade level. Exceptions are only made by permission of the Education Director.

Learn the singing skills necessary to perform in musicals! Geared for students in 4th through 6th grades who want to study voice, but are not ready to commit to private singing lessons; this small class is perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will study musical terms, singing techniques, and explore their voices through group songs and solos from Broadway and movie musicals. At the end of the session students will confidently sing solo for families and show off what they’ve learned!

A musical theater extravaganza! 3rd through 5th grade students will sing songs and learn choreography from Disney musicals such as The Lion KingandAladdin. This class will focus on building a character, stage presence, and acting a song. We will end our class with a fabulous musical revue complete with songs and an original scene!

Lights, camera, action! This is an on camera acting class for beginners in grades 5th and up interested in exploring the world of TV and film. This is particularly good for students who have acted on stage, and want to make the transition to on camera. Students will have a chance to be on camera, watch their performance and the performances of the other students, and work with a variety of genres.

Dragons Love Tacos! Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will dive into Adam Rubin’s hilarious book using music, dance, art and so much more. In this story drama class we will write our own Dragons Love Tacos inspired script, learn our lines, and rehearse our staging. We will present our dragon-filled adventure to friends and family on the final day of class!

Perform a “Star Wars Shakespeare” one act play complete with costumes and props! 5th through 12th grade students will learn basic stage fundamentals and character development through dynamic and fun exercises. Then, we will work with a script that mashes Shakespeare’s language style with an epic Star Wars plot, rehearse our play, and perform it for our friends and family on the final day of class!

In this play creation and performance class 3rd through 5th grade students will twist and turn fairytales into a new theatrical creation! We’ll use storytelling, improvisation, and creative drama to create our own fractured fairytale. Maybe we’ll hear all about the story of Red Riding Hood from the Wolf’s point of view. Or, we’ll change the three little pigs into college students. Perhaps the dwarfs will take Snow White to court for trespassing. After finalizing our script, we will learn our lines, rehearse our staging, and add costumes and props. On the final class day we’ll present our play to friends and family!

6th through 12th grade students with dance experience will enjoy this fast-paced and fun course. Learn choreography and technique set to the sound tracks of current Broadway shows. The class will focus on traditional musical theater dance technique including tap. Students will improve their technique and musicality in the process. Permission from the Director of Education is required to enroll in this class.

Tap and jazz are important skills for students interested in musical theatre to learn. In this class students in 6th through 12th grades will learn the basics of tap and jazz, focusing on pairing basic tap and jazz terminology with their respective steps, learning a musical theatre routine, and giving students confidence in their skills. On the final day of class we’ll share our skills with family and friends in a final presentation.

For 6th through 12th grade students, learn how to take an idea and create an entire world. We’ll play theater games and turn those games into writing exercises. In this interactive playwriting course students will create characters, write dialogue, invent conflicts, and much more. The final class will feature a staged reading of each student’s written work.

Exploring new worlds through drama is a great way to build confidence and communication skills. Students 4 years old trhough Kindergarten will play games, read stories, and sing songs to unleash their inner drama bug!
