After School Classes
Mini Winter Session 2017- 18 registration is now open!
Avoid disappointment and register early! Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled up to two weeks before their start date.
Our Quarterly Theater Class program offers Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions, each 8 weeks in length. We also offer a 6-week Mini Winter Session between Fall and Winter. We offer acting, dancing, and singing classes with a variety of themes and focuses for preschool through high school students.
If you have an idea for a class that you do not see offered, contact the Education Director – if you have at least six students and we have the space and the Instructor, you can create your own class!
All classes are listed by grade level. Exceptions are only made by permission of the Education Director.

Learn how to take an idea and create an entire world. We’ll play theater games and turn those games into writing exercises. In this interactive playwriting course, students will create characters, write dialogue, invent conflicts, and share their work. The final class will feature a staged reading of each student’s work.

How do you tackle a scene? How do you work with your acting partner? Using some of the greatest scenes from comedic plays, you will learn how to turn words on a page into a living, breathing thing. On the last day of class we’ll share our scene work with families and friends.

Have fun with the exciting world of improvisation! Beginning and returning students will learn about thinking fast on their feet, working as an ensemble, creating stories and performing improv in front of others. They will learn to take risks and not be afraid of something flopping. Each week we’ll focus on a different aspect of improvisation to open up a whole new world of acting. A great way to build confidence onstage!

Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. Vocalease teaches students vocal technique in a small supportive group. Students will study musical terms and singing techniques and explore their voices through group songs and solos from Broadway and movie musicals. At the end of the session students will confidently sing a solo for families and show off what they’ve learned!

A musical theater extravaganza celebrating big city living! Students will sing songs and learn choreography from Broadway musicals celebrating or set in big cities such as Annie, andNewsies. This class will focus on building a character, stage presence, and acting a song. We will end our class with a fabulous musical revue complete with songs and an original scene!

Join Charlie inside Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. We will explore Roald Dahl’s award-winning book using music, dance, art and so much more. In this story drama class we will created a short Charlie and the Chocolate Factory script, learn our lines, and rehearse our staging. We will present our adventure to friends and family on the final day of class!

Come play, create and imagine going on thrilling adventures every week! Students use their imaginations to travel to a different world, meet different characters, find problems and create their own solutions. Through art, games, and storytelling we will learn to work together and collaborate, learn the confidence needed to be in front of an audience and beginning theater skills. On the final day of class, we will go on one last adventure so our friends and families can experience our stories along with us.
