BIO: Kristina Sutherland Rowell
Kristina Sutherland Rowell is a director, playwright, actor, and teaching artist based in Seattle. With over fifteen years of professional teaching experience in the Puget Sound region, she enjoys leading acting, directing, and playwriting classes for students of all ages. Kristina has taught theatre arts classes at several Northwest nonprofit arts organizations including Macha Monkey Productions, Youth Theatre Northwest, Icicle Creek Arts Center, The Seattle Children’s Theatre, The Seattle Repertory Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, and Red Eagle Soaring. She loves new plays and is the co-founder of Macha Monkey Productions, a nonprofit theatre company dedicated to creating and producing new work in theatre. She is also the author of several critically acclaimed plays including Thebes and Franklin and Figaro. Her plays have been produced in Seattle, across Canada in numerous fringe theatre festivals and in Albuquerque’s Revolutions Festival. Kristina received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Western Washington University and her Master in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University.
